U15 - U19 OUT OF STATE TEAMS 2007-08 SINGLE SEASON REGISTRATION
U15-U19 Out of State Teams League Facts for 2007-08 and Registration LINK
OUT OF STATE TEAMS – U15 through U19 – LEAGUE FACTS

In our continuing efforts to offer unique flexibility in scheduling, the league will begin a new process for our U15 through U19 age groups commencing in late fall 2007. In past years, the league coordinated late fall play for the U15-U19 brackets following the high school season as a “tune-up” period for teams and then officially schedule your required games for league play in the spring. As more teams struggle to complete their mandatory spring scheduled games, due to availability of players and lack of cooperation weather-wise, we will be introducing an extended scheduling time frame (single season of late fall to May) where all teams can play the mandatory schedule for the league.

There will be no change in the number of games teams are required to play. Each bracket will consist of six teams and each team must play each other at least once for a five game fall/spring schedule. The only change is that you will have the option of commencing with the required schedule in late fall through May.

All U15 through U19 teams will need to meet registration deadlines earlier than they have in the past. Registration will open via our website on June 1st and will close on October 31st. Teams that attempt to register after October 31st will be placed on a wait list and could potentially not be accepted into the league. Team acceptance and bracketing of those who meet the October 31st registration deadline will be based on past overall performance in the league and/or competitive performance in the region and teams will be bracketed into MAPS 1, MAPS 2 or various premier levels. Brackets will be limited and schedules will be developed based on the ability of teams to participate in either fall, spring or both. Geography will not be a consideration in determining brackets.

Teams that wish to take advantage of the league’s prolonged calendar season (start in late fall) must indicate that on their application, and block out dates so we can schedule appropriately. Please be certain to consider field availability before committing to a late fall/spring schedule.

Please remember that regardless of the dates you select for games (fall or spring), teams will be required to play the mandatory five game league schedule. Teams that wish to have a larger schedule, can do so by indicating such on your registration application. The league will schedule teams for up to eight games in the season and there are teams who will elect to do just that by perhaps playing 2-3 games in late fall, and the balance in the spring based on the team’s tournament schedule.

Teams that elect to be given a spring only schedule will automatically be assigned a five (5) game mandatory league schedule. Additional games can be arranged on open dates that teams list on their registration and the league will coordinate the requests and make efforts to match teams up for additional games as requested. This will take cooperation from all of the teams so please pay careful attention to dates you select as open for league games. All games played outside of the mandatory five (5) game schedule will be played under the MSSL banner, BUT if you commit to play, we will expect you to do so.

To close, MSSL/CJYSA continues to strive in our efforts to provide flexibility in scheduling and this new schedule process is another step in that process.

Remember…
  1. Register early (after June 1st but no later than October 31st);
  2. Indicate on registration if you want to be scheduled late fall/spring or spring only;
  3. Indicate on registration your team’s availability dates taking field availability into consideration;
  4. If your team commits to dates, be sure to play on those dates OR request adjustments in a timely fashion;
  5. Please be sure to have credit card available when you register. We will no longer accept checks but the web based registration will accept VISA, MASTERCARD or DISCOVER.

Our league recognizes two governing bodies for league play-CJYSA affiliated with NJYS and MSSL affiliated with US CLUB.

Our CJYSA league is affiliated with NJYS and any U11-U14 out of state teams have the option of using USYSA passes or US CLUB passes, or both, for participation in our league.

Out of State teams need to have player passes with an affiliation. With our league, teams domiciled outside of NJ may choose to affiliate with their in-state USYSA (i.e., CT-CYSA, E.PA-EPYSA, E.NY-ENYYSA, DE-DYSA) or US CLUB (national passes) or both.

If your out of state team wishes to use USYSA passes, then your team MUST purchase an out of state roster from NJYS to play in our league (as required under USYSA rules regarding out of state travel etc).

See instructions below for cost & obtaining out of state roster through NJYS. Just as your state affiliation roster is validated for 2007-08 season, so is the out of state roster with NJYS. If you participate in our league in the fall, and obtain an out of state roster, you do not need to do so again in the spring and should only pay the league registration fee for the spring season upon registering.
Note: if you plan to use CJYS as your primary league to qualify for National State Cup competition in your state (other than NJ), you must notify us in advance.  We need to be sure you are scheduled a sufficient number of matches with other teams from your home state to meet your state game requirements.
OUT OF STATE TEAMS may participate in our MSSL league with US CLUB affiliation ONLY. Out of State teams who wish to register and play under US CLUB only should register on line for league play and pay the registration fee.  Go to http://www.usclubsoccer.org and complete your team and player registration process on the US CLUB website with your existing club. If you are a new team registering with USCLUB, follow instructions under MSSL LEAGUE registration on this website. and complete your team and player registration process on the US CLUB website with your existing club. If you are a new team registering with USCLUB, follow instructions under MSSL LEAGUE registration on this website.
