Programs

SELECT@HOME 

The program offers a wonderful soccer experience right in the player’s backyard.  The program is low commitment, low cost and lots of fun. Players sign-up and are assigned to a team.  NO TRYOUTS – JUST PLAY!   

Drawing on the various towns in the league, each team will typically have players competing with and against rivals normally faced in the regular season. Each team plays an eight game schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  All games are played in Mercer County Park . The cost per player is $55 which covers a team T-shirt, the cost of facilities, and administrative fees.  We are looking for players and coaches.  If you have interest, please complete an application and return it no later than May 16 to:

 2008 SUMMER SELECT Program

SUMMER LEAGUE SELECT

The CJYSA League Select Team plays in competitive tournaments in June and through July.  The program offers top-level training and four or more tournaments.  Summer Select program is a great way for committed soccer players to have a great time and to hone their skills during the summer.  The program does not interfere with club obligations.   

Eligibility

Players with a valid youth soccer pass, between the ages of  U9 thru U17 are eligible to try out for our league Select team.   

Player Commitment

The program is designed to attract committed soccer players.  The player is expected to attend 90% of scheduled practices and tournaments.  An infrequent absence is acceptable, the expectation is that the player will put Select at the top of his priority list.  

Tournaments

The Select team will register for proposed tournaments: Rider Cup (June 21 - 22), Hacketstown Blast (June 28 & June 29), Pocono Cup (July 12 & 13), Centeral Jersey Summer Invitational (July 19 & 20), NSR Region One Cup (July 26 & 27).  Each family is responsible for travel and hotel expenses for the tournaments. Coaches are also encouraged to organize some friendly matches and scrimmages.

Training. Typically, teams train two times a week beginning in June and ending in late July.  Players are expected to attend practices.  Some of the teams will be based out of Mercer County Park and others will be based out of Rutgers .

Cost Per Player

The cost per player is $395.  This covers the uniform (Shirts, Shorts, Socks, Training Jerseys ), training and tournament registration fees. 

Tryout Schedule

Players can register on site.  All tryouts will be at Mercer County Park , Fields # 3 - 9

Tryouts are scheduled for Saturday May 3 and May 17.  The Rain Date is May 31.  Players are encouraged to attend both sessions. Only one tryout is required. Any Changes to the tryout schedule (e.g., Weather related) will be posted at our website:  www.cjysa.org
